Spellda - About

Zelda words are hard to spell. So why not make it a cool game? This is Spellda. You get to learn about Zelda characters, items, and more that you may not have known about, and test your spelling knowledge at the same time!

This is a proof of concept and programming practice project. It is not complete. Feedback, suggestions for new words, or comments are appreciated.

The ability to hear alternate pronunciations of words PARTIALLY COMPLETED. I added alternates to a few weird words I wasn't sure how to pronounce, but I'm sure there are more that could be added.
A Wordle-like hint system that will show how close to the actual answer you are based on your previous guess
A form where new words can be submitted for review
Removing the time played from the audio button
A sudden death mode (wrong guess = instantly new word)
Check which specific game a word is from (i.e. from "Link: The Faces of Evil" instead of just "CD-i Games")

Features that I think would be fun but might not happen

A "trivia mode", where you have to spell a word with no pronunciation, instead only based on its picture and/or description
Varying how common words are based on difficulty and/or how popular their games are (Maybe just as an option?)

Who Am I?

I'm a linguistics nerd who's trying to learn about programming... hence every word being translated into IPA for pronunciations. Was that necessary? No. Probably not.
